Most of these stones came from my backyard while excavating and adding gravel to the driveway for our shop. In Montana, you don’t have to go far to find wonder.
Just a heads-up: those photos of Lake McDonald in Glacier Park you see on social media, with stones that are bright blue or vivid red, are color-enhanced. The river stones are indeed beautiful, with shades like light sea teal and wine, but they’re not so bright that they seem to glow.
Of course, the stones aren’t this bright when dry—the resin works like water, bringing out their beauty. I often find myself staring at these coasters, noticing something new each time.
The bubbles in the coaster are an added touch of nature. I soak the stones in water and run them through a tumbler before placing them in the coasters, but air still gets trapped in the stones until the heat of the epoxy curing pulls it out.
The rims feature glow-in-the-dark pigment, and the bottoms can be covered with cork or left clear with rubber pads. Please note your preference when ordering.
Coaster: 4" in diameter, rim approximately 1/4" and 1/8" deep.
